John 15:12: This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.
Life is hard. Our trials in life are harder. The good news is that God is at work in all our lives, in all that we do, and in every battle we face. We are all equal. We are all sinners. With a loving, just, and triune God fueling daily operations, it is OUR duty to serve others, just as Matthew 5:16 instructs “In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”
As an adult working in the mental health field, Alison has seen the power of loving others transform lives. She has seen salvation restored, chains shattered, and has witnessed firsthand, the illumination that kindness and wisdom can shed on others.
Alison sees her job as a therapist as an opportunity to help others see and feel the power and love that Jesus has in our lives by walking alongside of others on their faith journey. Jesus instructs us to make disciples, obey the commands, and to live for him and his glory. All that we do in life should be focused on God’s glory, even the on most challenging of days.
Alison’s plan is to partner with you to develop and re-learn the tools it takes for you to continue to grow. Alison has experience working with people of all ages, with varying degrees of challenges as a Generalist Social Worker. She has spent time working alongside methods and theories including: A Culture of Gentleness, Motivational Interviewing, the Gottman Method, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Marriage and Family Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Systems Theory, and Strengths Approach.
Alison’s hope is to promote growth, development, across multiple areas of daily life at an individual, group, and community level.
Jesus instructs us to love others. Jesus tells us to shine our light on others and help those in need. As a Christian, Alison wants others to know and love Jesus, just as she does, for he is The Way, the Truth, and the Life.
